Description
The OTIS Elevator Door Signal Conversion Board DOORX-A.PCB, also known as a photoelectric or infrared beam, electric safety door edges, door detector, electric proximity edges1, or electric doorman, is a feature in elevators that detects a person or object in the doorway and prevents the doors from closing (usually installed for accessibility). When a person or something blocks the doorway and the sensors pick them up, the door will automatically reopen, remain open, and not close again until the obstruction is removed2. If the doors are left open for longer than the allotted time, the elevator enters nudge mode, and the doors gently close while beeping repeatedly. The door sensors won’t function.
