Features & Benefits

• Converts the communication between Bluetooth Low Energy(BLE) and RS-485/RS-232 interfaces.

• BLE Certification: IFD8540 is Bluetooth 5.0 certified and utilizes 2.4GHz Frequency-hopping Spread Spectrum(FHSS) technology, providing higher transmission speed and wider signal coverage compared with conventional Bluetooth devices. It also adopts AES-CCM 128-bit encryption with higher security level.

• BLE Protocol: in addition to common GATT(Generic Attribute Profile) protocol supported by most mobile devices, IFD8540 also offers two kinds of mesh networks to maximize the flexibility in planning an IIoT application.
  – SIG Mesh: standard Bluetooth mesh protocol with 15Kbps speed within 50m distance
  – Instaburst Mesh: boost mesh mode. Instaburst mode offers 160Kbps speed within 10m distance
  – GATT: standard Bluetooth protocol which is backward compatible to Bluetooth devices of older versions. It offers up to 2Mbps speed within 50m distance in a point-to-point scenario. Users can use Delta’s Android App (Delta SmartViewer) to perform the functionality available in GATT mode.

• Configurable by software or hardware switches for basic parameters such as station ID, BLE group ID, RS-485 baud rate and factory default. Saves configuration time in manufacturing and project commissioning process.

• Built in communication indicators(BLE, COM) for easier troubleshooting

• Full isolation between communication and power circuits to achieve higher noise immunity
